About Us

Our Vision for Cassoday Kansas

If you have ever been through Cassoday, Kansas - you might understand where we are coming from.  It's a little town located in Butler County Kansas. With approximately 100 good folks that reside here, there is also a lot of events and happenings that occur right in our town.  The speed is relaxed and slow here.

You may find a little baseball game being played by the kids on main street, and during the months of March through October, we welcome the Cassoday Bike Run on the First Sunday of the month.  The Cassoday Bike Run is a motorcycle rally that brings together people of all ages.

Our vision, is to continue to welcome guests and visitors whether they are on motorcycles, bicycles, on foot, or by auto. We are restoring some feature buildings on main street.

We are excited about the opportunities that we hope to be able to create for this wonderful town!

We are located right in the middle of the The TransAmerica Bicycle Trail. It was originally created in 1976 as a route across the country in honor of America's 200th birthday. Our community welcomes touring cyclists, and give them a place to rest their bodies.

Our Story

How it Began

When Ken Walker heard that the town of Cassoday wanted to raise some money for Christmas Decor, he was excited to help.

The Cassoday Prairie Queen Festival, which happens the 3rd Weekend in May, was the perfect opportunity to reach out to people in the town and get support for the fundraiser. In 60 days, Ken raised enough money to get the Christmas Decor needed.

About Ken

Ken Walker was brought up in the oilfields and has been around the industry all of his life.  While working alongside his grandfather in the fields doing dirt work, he attended Washburn University and obtained a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology. Ken raised 2 amazing boys, all while building a successful and reputable fleet maintenance business that he ran for over 22 years.  However in 2006, his world was shaken when Ken was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma – a form of blood cancer that almost took his life.  He fought a long battle for over a year and God willing, has since been cancer free.

It was this life transforming event that has led to Ken's uncanny perspective on life and was a seed planted to help those going through similar situations.  Ken’s mission has been dedicated to helping people.
